London's Roman Amphitheatre
This book details the construction, development and ultimate disuse of London Roman's Amphitheatre, from the 1st to 4th centuries AD.
The discovery of one of Roman London's most significant buildings, its amphitheatre, (unknowingly concealed by the medieval Guildhall site) resulted in major archaeological excavations which took place between 1985 and 1999 as part of the City of London's ambitious programme of redevelopment at the Guildhall.
